The Flight of Wally Funk by Spiderbait
The Flight of Wally Funk is an album by Spiderbait, released in 2001. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 3 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Outta My Head”, on 1 list with a best position of #71.
The Flight of Wally Funk, Spiderbait's fifth studio album, took off in October 2001, named for the female aviator Wally Funk. The trio from Finley, New South Wales, Janet English on bass and vocals, Kram on drums and vocals and Whitt on guitar, followed up Grand Slam with a record that treats alternative rock like a playground, bolting fuzzed-out riffs onto dancefloor grooves and handing the mic back and forth between English's sweet, cool delivery and Kram's hollering.
It's scrappy, funny and loud. "Outta My Head" and "Four on the Floor" hit the countdowns, and the gloriously titled "Arse Huggin' Pants" wasn't far behind. It peaked at number 34 on the ARIA charts, and Tonight Alright came next.
