Surrender by Rüfüs Du Sol
Surrender is an album by Rüfüs Du Sol, released in 2021. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 7 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “On My Knees”, on 5 lists with a best position of #9.
Surrender, the fourth album from Sydney's Rüfüs Du Sol, arrived on 22 October 2021 on Reprise, a month after it was announced. Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt made it working out of a do-it-yourself studio in a ground-floor Hollywood apartment, with Jason Evigan producing, and the closeness shows: the synths are huge and the beats are built for big rooms, but the songs feel personal.
"Alive" is the centerpiece, a slow-building rush that won the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording in 2022, while "On My Knees" and "Next to Me" push harder toward the dancefloor. The album itself was up for a Grammy too, plus four ARIA nominations including Album of the Year, and the Surrender world tour ended up filling Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles three times over.
