Manners, Passion Pit's debut album, arrived on May 15, 2009, and it's a sugar rush of electropop from a Cambridge, Massachusetts band built around frontman and keyboardist Michael Angelakos. His voice soars over fizzing synths and big, bouncing beats, and the whole thing feels like a party where everyone is secretly a little heartbroken.
"The Reeling" led the way as the first single, "To Kingdom Come" and "Little Secrets" followed, and "Sleepyhead", first heard on the Chunk of Change EP, was finally mastered and given a proper home here. A deluxe edition the next spring added stripped-down takes on "Moth's Wings" and "Sleepyhead" plus a cover of the Cranberries' "Dreams", and the band marked the album's tenth birthday with a North American tour in 2019.
