Let Go by Nada Surf
Let Go is an album by Nada Surf, released in 2002. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Inside of Love”, on 3 lists with a best position of #43.
Nada Surf's third album, Let Go, came out on Barsuk on September 17, 2002, and it's a comeback from the edge. Elektra had soured on The Proximity Effect and cut them loose, so the New York trio put that one out themselves and then went back to day jobs, writing in the margins. What emerged is warm, rueful alternative rock: Matthew Caws singing and playing guitar, Daniel Lorca on bass and backing vocals, Ira Elliot on drums, all gentle melodies and quiet ache.
Critics fell for it, to the tune of an 80 average on Metacritic across 11 reviews, and Entertainment Weekly heard a dozen near-flawless pop songs full of joyful desperation. "Inside of Love" made the UK singles chart, "Blonde on Blonde" played over the opening credits of the 2004 film Summer Storm, and The Weight Is a Gift came next.
