Plastic Soul by Mondo Cozmo
Plastic Soul is an album by Mondo Cozmo, released in 2017. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 19 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Shine”, on 15 lists with a best position of #11.
Plastic Soul, the 2017 album Mondo Cozmo made for Republic Records, is the work of Joshua Keith Ostrander, a Philadelphia singer, songwriter and producer who now calls Los Angeles home. Mondo Cozmo is his solo alias, and his music has been tagged as folk-rock with the choruses turned way up, which is about right: these songs are built to be shouted back at him from the cheap seats.
"Shine" is the one that got its hooks into rock radio, a swelling, arms-wide anthem that goes big and stays there, and "Automatic" found its way onto the countdowns long after the album's release.
