Some Mad Hope by Matt Nathanson
Some Mad Hope is an album by Matt Nathanson, released in 2007. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 3 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Come On Get Higher”, on 3 lists with a best position of #14.
Some Mad Hope, Matt Nathanson's sixth studio album, came out on August 14, 2007, his first for Vanguard Records, with Marshall Altman producing. Nathanson blends folk and rock, and here the blend comes out big and polished: pop-rock with a confessional streak and choruses built for singing along in the car.
Two singles, "Car Crash" and "Come On Get Higher", became fixtures of adult album alternative radio, and the latter is the one that stuck, a sweet, slow-building sing-along that eventually went double platinum in 2016. The album reached 60 on the Billboard 200 and 3 on the independent albums chart, and it kept on selling for years, reaching 500,000 copies by August 2016. That's the Los Angeles skyline on the cover.
