Sidewalks by Matt And Kim
Sidewalks is an album by Matt And Kim, released in 2010. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 24 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Cameras”, on 16 lists with a best position of #16.
Sidewalks, the third album from Brooklyn duo Matt and Kim, came out on Fader Label on November 2, 2010, and it's the first time keyboardist-singer Matt Johnson and drummer Kim Schifino made a record in proper studios instead of doing it themselves. Ben H. Allen and Oliver Straus produced, following the breakthrough of Grand, whose "Lessons Learned" video had turned them into a sensation.
The formula is still all sugar and adrenaline: bouncing keys, pounding drums and shout-along choruses in their dance-punk synth-pop style, just in sharper focus. "Cameras" and "Block After Block" got videos from Jonathan Del Gatto, and "Good for Great" joined them on the radio. Critics were split, loving the relentless good cheer but grumbling that the studio sheen blunted the scrappy punk edge, yet it still climbed to 30 on the Billboard 200.
