Shapeshifter by Marcy Playground
Shapeshifter is an album by Marcy Playground, released in 1999. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “It's Saturday”, on 3 lists with a best position of #22.
Shapeshifter, Marcy Playground's second album, came out on Capitol on November 2, 1999, and it had a tough act to follow: the band's 1997 hit "Sex and Candy" had camped out at number one on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart for close to four months. Singer and guitarist John Wozniak and bassist Dylan Keefe were still at the core of the band.
"It's Saturday" went out first as the single, a lazy, grinning shuffle that climbed to number 25 on that same modern rock chart, with "Bye Bye" also finding its way onto the countdowns. The band took the album on the road alongside Blinker the Star.
