BRIGHTSIDE by Lumineers
BRIGHTSIDE is an album by Lumineers, released in 2022. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 26 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Brightside”, on 16 lists with a best position of #6.
Brightside, the fourth album from the Denver-based Lumineers, came out on January 14, 2022, through Dualtone and Decca, still steered by founders Wesley Schultz, on vocals and guitar, and Jeremiah Fraites, on drums and piano. Simone Felice and David Baron did most of the producing, and the record is lean, restless and a little road-weary, more open-highway melancholy than stomp-and-holler.
The title track, "Big Shot" and "A.M. Radio" all went out as singles ahead of it, with "Brightside" setting the tone: a driving, hopeful rush with Schultz's voice straining toward something better. "Where We Are" carries the same searching mood. It's a direct, unfussy record from a band that had become one of the biggest touring draws in America, trying to see how much it could say with less.
