Cuts & Bruises by Inhaler
Cuts & Bruises is an album by Inhaler, released in 2023. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 13 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “These Are the Days”, on 6 lists with a best position of #2.
Cuts & Bruises, Inhaler's second album, landed on Polydor on 17 February 2023, and the Dublin four-piece started writing it on the road in early 2022, still touring a debut, It Won't Always Be Like This, that had opened at number one in Ireland and the UK. Elijah Hewson, who sings and plays guitar alongside bassist Robert Keating, guitarist and keyboardist Josh Jenkinson and drummer Ryan McMahon, said the band came in with more confidence and a plan to strip things back and give the songs room.
You can hear it: the guitars shimmer instead of crowding each other, and the choruses open up wide. "These Are the Days" went out as the lead single in June 2022, "Love Will Get You There" followed in October, and "If You're Gonna Break My Heart" arrived just before the album. Critics were broadly kind, and Open Wide followed in 2025.
