The Mountain by Heartless Bastards
The Mountain is an album by Heartless Bastards, released in 2009. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 3 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “The Mountain”, on 3 lists with a best position of #49.
The Mountain, Heartless Bastards' third album and their third for Fat Possum, came out on February 3, 2009, and it's the work of a band in the middle of a rebuild. Original drummer Kevin Vaughn and bassist Mike Lamping were gone, so for the first time the group went in without them, handing the controls to Mike McCarthy, the producer behind Spoon.
The blues-rock bones are still here, heavy and dusty, and the songs have room to stretch and sway, with the title track looming over the record like its namesake. It followed All This Time, and Arrow came next.
