Cabin by the Sea by Dirty Heads
Cabin by the Sea is an album by Dirty Heads, released in 2012. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 17 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Spread Too Thin”, on 12 lists with a best position of #6.
Cabin by the Sea, the second album from Huntington Beach reggae rockers the Dirty Heads, came out on Five Seven Music on June 19, 2012, four years after their debut, Any Port in a Storm. Founders Jared "Dirty J" Watson and Dustin "Duddy B" Bushnell trade the lead vocals, with Bushnell also on guitar, backed by David Foral on bass, Shawn Hagood on keyboards, Matt Ochoa on drums and Jon Olazabal on percussion.
The rollout came with a grin: KROQ got the first taste of lead single "Spread Too Thin" on March 9, 2012, at exactly 4:20, and iTunes had it four days later. That tells you the mood. This is sun-soaked, easygoing reggae rock for the boardwalk, in the same neighborhood as the bands they've run with, Sublime with Rome, 311 and Pepper, with the title track closing the deal.
