Who Is the Sky?, released by Matador on September 5, 2025, finds David Byrne teaming up with Ghost Train Orchestra, an ensemble from New York City, on his ninth studio album and their sixth. For the principal songwriter, singer and guitarist of Talking Heads, a joint venture like this is familiar ground: his career outside the band is full of partnerships, from Brian Eno to St. Vincent.
"Everybody Laughs" led the way onto the countdowns, a buoyant, full-ensemble reminder of how playful Byrne still sounds, and "What Is The Reason For It?" followed it there.
