Alone Together is an album by Dave Mason, released in 1970. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 5 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Only You Know And I Know”, on 5 lists with a best position of #473.
Alone Together, the first solo album from ex-Traffic man Dave Mason, came out on Blue Thumb in 1970 with Tommy LiPuma producing. Mason didn't exactly go it alone, whatever the title says: he brought along a crack crew of friends including Bonnie Bramlett, Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge, Jim Capaldi, Carl Radle and Jim Gordon.
What comes out is loose, warm, rootsy rock, the sound of a gifted songwriter stretching out with players who know how to make a groove feel easy. "Only You Know and I Know" was the hit, climbing to number 42 in the US, and the song had a second life as a signature tune for Delaney & Bonnie. Next up for Mason was Dave Mason & Cass Elliot.
