The Wild Youth EP by Daughter
The Wild Youth EP is an EP by Daughter, released in 2011. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 4 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Youth”, on 4 lists with a best position of #23.
The Wild Youth EP sits between His Young Heart and the album If You Leave in the early catalog of Daughter, the indie folk trio fronted by North London's Elena Tonra. Tonra had been joined by the Swiss guitarist Igor Haefeli and the French drummer Remi Aguilella in 2010, and here the three of them work in hushed tones: Haefeli's guitar and Aguilella's drums frame Tonra's quiet, bruised voice without ever crowding it, and the songs build slowly instead of barging in. "Youth" is the one that lingered, a slow-burning piece that shows how much weight this band could get out of so little noise.
