Skull & Bones by Cypress Hill
Skull & Bones is an album by Cypress Hill, released in 2000. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 25 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Rock Superstar”, on 23 lists with a best position of #4.
Skull & Bones, Cypress Hill's fifth album, came out on Columbia on April 25, 2000, and the South Gate crew settled the question of which way to go by going both ways at once. It's split across two discs: "Skull" is pure hip-hop, DJ Muggs' production thick and smoky, and "Bones" is rap metal, all roaring guitars and slammed drums.
The guest list is stacked: Everlast, Eminem and N.O.R.E., plus Christian Olde Wolbers and Dino Cazares of Fear Factory, Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine and Chino Moreno of Deftones. "Rock Superstar", a snarling, guitar-driven stomp, is the one rock radio grabbed and kept.
