Doppelgänger by Curve

Doppelgänger was the debut album from London's Curve, released by Anxious Records, with Charisma helping handle it in America, and it built on the sound the duo had worked out across three earlier EPs. Toni Halliday sang and wrote the lyrics; Dean Garcia handled bass, guitars, drums and programming; Flood is credited as producer.

What they made is shoegaze that learned to dance: walls of reverb and distortion dropped on top of heavy, club-ready beats, with Halliday's voice gliding through the noise, cool and unbothered, like she's the only one in the room who isn't sweating. "Fait Accompli" is the track that caught the countdowns. The compilation Pubic Fruit came next.
