LA Divine by Cold War Kids
LA Divine is an album by Cold War Kids, released in 2017. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 18 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Love Is Mystical”, on 11 lists with a best position of #8.
L.A. Divine, released April 7, 2017 on Capitol, was the sixth album from Cold War Kids, the Long Beach band that came together in Fullerton, California. It followed Hold My Home and was the first to feature lead guitarist David Quon, who replaced Dann Gallucci, alongside singer Nathan Willett, bassist Matt Maust, Matthew Schwartz on keyboards and Joe Plummer on drums.
It's the band at its most open-armed: Willett's big, bluesy yowl riding piano-pounding, handclap-happy indie rock with a soul-revue swagger. "Love Is Mystical" is the rallying cry, all stomp and gospel-sized chorus, and "So Tied Up" works a slinkier, poppier groove.
