The Ride by Catfish and the Bottlemen
The Ride is an album by Catfish and the Bottlemen, released in 2016. 2 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 12 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Soundcheck”, on 8 lists with a best position of #4.
The Ride, the second studio album from Llandudno's Catfish and the Bottlemen, came out on 27 May 2016, on Island in the UK and Capitol in the States, three months after the band collected the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act. Dave Sardy, whose résumé runs through Oasis, Jet and Wolfmother, produced it, and he keeps things big and blunt: Van McCann's hook-first songs, with Johnny Bond, Benji Blakeway on bass and Bob Hall on drums driving everything straight at the chorus.
Critics were split, but the fans weren't: it went straight to the top of the UK Albums Chart, their first time there, and 300,000 units have been sold in Britain since. "Soundcheck," "7," "Twice" and "Outside" were the singles, and "7" became their highest-charting UK single at the time.
