Left of Self-Centered by Butch Walker

Left of Self-Centered arrived on Arista on July 9, 2002, with Butch Walker producing himself, and it's the sound of a lifer who had been at this long enough to know exactly where the hooks go. The Cartersville, Georgia guitarist had done glam-metal duty in SouthGang, then sang and played guitar in Marvelous 3 from 1997 to 2001, and here he steps out under his own name.

It's pop rock with a pop-punk kick, all bright guitars and big sticky choruses, cut by a songwriter who knows how to make a radio record without sanding off the smirk. "My Way" is the one that caught the countdowns, and Heartwork came next.
