POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR by Bring Me the Horizon
POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR is an album by Bring Me the Horizon, released in 2020. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 12 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Teardrops”, on 5 lists with a best position of #2.
Post Human: Survival Horror dropped on 30 October 2020, and Bring Me the Horizon billed it as the first of four planned Post Human projects rather than a standard album. Oli Sykes and keyboardist Jordan Fish produced it themselves, with extra production from composer Mick Gordon, and after years of drifting toward electronica and pop the Sheffield band swung back to the heavier, nastier metalcore of their early records.
Lee Malia's riffs grind, Matt Nicholls and Matt Kean pound away underneath, and Sykes screams like he means every word. "Ludens" had already surfaced on the Timefall soundtrack for Death Stranding, and "Parasite Eve", "Obey" and "Teardrops" followed it out as singles. Critics were mostly kind, and it gave the band their second UK number one. The next chapter, Post Human: Nex Gen, took until May 2024 to arrive after an unexpected delay.
