The Power of Pussy, Bongwater's third album, came out in 1990 on Shimmy Disc, the label run by Kramer, who founded the band with Ann Magnuson after the two had worked together in Pulsallama. It's psychedelic rock with a wicked sense of humor, woozy and collage-happy, with Magnuson vamping like a cabaret act that wandered into a lava lamp.
The title track was a big college radio hit, and "Nick Cave Dolls" and "Folk Song" became favorites too. Just to keep everyone guessing, the record also takes on Dudley Moore's "Bedazzled" and the Weavers' "Kisses Sweeter Than Wine". Kramer and Alan Douches remastered it in 1998 for the Box of Bongwater set.
