There's Something Going On by Babybird
There's Something Going On is an album by Babybird, released in 1998. 1 song from it has charted on rock radio countdowns, with 1 countdown appearance in total. The biggest is “Bad Old Man”, on 1 list with a best position of #80.
There's Something Going On, Babybird's second album, came out on Echo in 1998 as the follow-up to Ugly Beautiful. Babybird began as Stephen Jones alone, recording songs at home and releasing the demos as Baby Bird, then putting a band together so he could take them on the road. The band's stamp is stronger this time: where Ugly Beautiful leaned on Jones's pre-band recordings, only one track here, "I Was Never Here", is a fresh take on one of those home-made originals, which first turned up on Fatherhood.
"Bad Old Man" is the song that reached the countdowns, and the album got to No. 28 on the UK Albums Chart. It didn't last: after Bugged sold poorly, Echo dropped them in 2000 and the band split.
