This Is All Yours by Alt J
This Is All Yours is an album by Alt J, released in 2014. 3 songs from it have charted on rock radio countdowns, with 50 countdown appearances in total. The biggest is “Left Hand Free”, on 30 lists with a best position of #2.
This Is All Yours, Alt-J's second album, came out on 22 September 2014, the Leeds band's first as a trio after Gwil Sainsbury left early that year. The pressure was on after An Awesome Wave took the 2012 Mercury Prize, and Joe Newman, Thom Sonny Green and Gus Unger-Hamilton answer with a record that's stranger, slower and more pastoral, full of hushed harmonies, clattering percussion and Newman's peculiar, nasal yelp.
"Hunger of the Pine" is the eerie, looping one, "Left Hand Free" a bluesy, swaggering left turn, and "Every Other Freckle" and "Warm Foothills" rounded out the four singles. It entered the UK chart at number one, the band's first chart-topper, peaked just behind the top spot in Belgium, Australia and Canada, climbed to fourth place in America, and picked up a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album.
